Walden University Partners with Organizations to Offer Degrees Online to Educators, Administrators

Walden Teacher

Walden University has formed a partnership with three education groups to provide professional development opportunities to their teachers, administrators, and staff.

Under the new alliance, educators and associates of the South Central Service Cooperative in Minnesota, the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency in Iowa, and the Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents will have the opportunity to enroll in higher education programs at The Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership at Walden University.

A Professional Education Legacy Continues

The university, which was founded in 1970 by two teachers, has a long history of supporting education and educators.

"Walden University has a rich professional education legacy, and we are committed to helping the learning, achievement, and success of students in eastern Iowa, southern Minnesota, and Tennessee by preparing outstanding educators," said Victoria Reid, vice president of the Riley College of Education and Leadership at Walden University.

The alliance facilitates access for the groups' members to Walden's master's and doctoral programs, as well as the B.S. in Child Development and B.S. in Instructional Design and Technology programs, Minnesota state-approved teacher preparation programs and Minnesota state-approved special education endorsement programs.

The opportunity is available to various members of the organizations' local education community including

  • Teachers at all levels of development
  • School administrative officials
  • School staff and associates

Reid said, "We are proud partners with these organizations in their initiatives to address the growing professional development needs of educators and administrators."
