Tricoci University of Beauty Culture was founded in 2004 by Mario Tricoci, who is well-known in the beauty industry. His salons and spa brands (Mario Tricoci Hair Salon & Day Spa and Mario Tricoci, Too) grew to 26 locations in the Midwest before merging with Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salons & Spas in 2001.
In founding the college, Tricoci's aim was to provide the growing salon and spa market with professionals who could handle the higher level of technical skills required by high-end facilities and environments. Tricoci also recognized that customer service was an essential part of the experience at upscale salons, and he wanted his college to include instruction in important client skills.
Tricoci University of Beauty Culture has various campus locations. The programs at the college can prepare you to work in a variety of environments from salons to movie sets to schools to dermatologist offices to funeral homes. Some graduates even go on to start their own salons and spas.
Besides the skills necessary to pursue your chosen career in the beauty industry, the college is dedicated to teaching you values, ethical leadership, and retail sales. The training programs prepare you for state licensing examinations, where applicable.

Diploma Programs at Tricoci University of Beauty Culture
Tricoci University of Beauty Culture offers diploma programs in cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology, and teacher training, as well as continuing education classes. The amount of time you need to study in order to complete your training varies from program to program. The cosmetology program, for example, requires 1500 hours of course work, which can be completed in ten months if taken full-time and 17 months if taken part-time. The esthetics program can be finished in just five months if you attend classes full-time. Other programs, such as the nail technology diploma, can be completed in just four months on a part-time basis.
The college also offers teacher training programs in several areas, which prepare you to begin a career as a teacher in the beauty industry. If you are already licensed in the field and have two or more years of experience as a professional, you can finish the teaching programs in just four months on a full-time basis.
In addition to traditional lectures, courses utilize hands-on experiences, demonstrations, visual presentations, and guest instructors. Your exams are both written and practical, so that you can demonstrate how well you have mastered a specific technique or skill. Tricoci University of Beauty Culture also holds clinics to give you the opportunity to work on customers who come to the school for inexpensive salon and spa services.
Tricoci University of Beauty Culture: Making Education Accessible
Tricoci University of Beauty Culture offers a number of different payment options. Federal financial aid may be available if you are eligible, including grants and loans. The college also has a private scholarship and grant program. These grants are based on need, while the scholarships are generally only available to employees of salons where the school maintains partnerships or to alumni and employees of the college. If you are not eligible for financial aid, the school allows you to make monthly tuition payments without having to pay any interest.
