Tiffin University prides itself on offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs that are focused on creating professionals who are ready to enter the work force. The college was founded in 1888 and is a private university with more than 130 faculty members. The campus is in the northern portion of Ohio and includes 110 acres. Some of the original buildings from the 1880s still exist alongside new buildings, including the Hertzer Technology Center and The Hayes Center for the Arts. Approximately 2,000 students are enrolled at the college.

Degree Programs at Tiffin University

Tiffin University's more than 20 undergraduate associate's and bachelor's degree programs are available through the following schools:

  • School of Criminal Justice & Social Sciences

These undergraduate programs are in diverse fields such as arts administration, sports and recreation management, forensic science, history, and psychology. The course offerings at Tiffin University allow you to combine specific skills training with a more general undergraduate education.

Tiffin University offers master's degrees in business, education, humanities, and criminal justice. The business and criminal justice degree programs offer additional concentrations for you to choose from. Tiffin University also offers three online degree programs. You can also select a blend of online and on-campus courses to design the schedule that fits your needs.

First and second year classes are relatively small with 25-40 students each. Upper-level courses generally contain no more than 15 students. At Tiffin University, 80 percent of the full-time professors hold the terminal degree in their field, and many of them hold doctorate degrees. These small class sizes combined with quality instruction ensure that your courses provide you with individualized instruction in the skills and concepts you need.

Tiffin University's Diverse Student Services

Tiffin University offers a wide variety of student services to help you succeed. The college's financial aid office can help you apply for any financial assistance for which you might qualify, including grants, loans, and scholarships. Approximately 90 percent of the students at Tiffin University receive some type of financial aid.

There is an Office of Institutional Research (IR) on campus, which was founded in 2003, for the university's research activities.

For students who are falling behind in their studies or just having trouble mastering a specific skill, a learning center is available where more advanced students provide tutoring services to other students.

The college maintains partnerships with employers and professionals in order to place students in jobs and internships during study and after graduation. The career development office provides lists of part-time and summer jobs, as well as internships and full-time jobs. Job fairs, business etiquette seminars, and luncheons to meet employers are held regularly. Additionally, you can receive resume and interview assistance from this office, which prides itself on placing more than 90 percent of its students in jobs.

Extracurricular Activities

The Music Industry program at the college maintains a record label of its own, and the campus also boasts an art gallery. The list of student organizations and clubs is very extensive and includes sororities and fraternities as well as opportunities to participate in student government.

Tiffin University has many sports and recreation teams, including baseball, basketball, football, soccer, cross-country, golf, tennis, track and field, volleyball, equestrian, bowling, martial arts, and cheerleading. The college is a member of the NCAA, Division II.

The school partners with the European Council for Business Education (ECBE) to create study abroad programs for its students, with opportunities to study in England, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Argentina, and Thailand.
