Founded in 1975, Technical Career Institute offers career-oriented degree and diploma programs in a modern, spacious facility. You can choose from numerous specializations in accounting, business, computer technology, or medical/dental technology fields.
Technical Career Institute pledges to provide you, as a student, with high standards, a business-oriented atmosphere, small classes for individualized attention, and guidance toward a job in your chosen field. The diploma and degree programs combine theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on training whenever applicable.
The college maintains memberships in several professional organizations, such as the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges (FAPSC), the National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP), and the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA.)
Degree Programs at Technical Career Institute
Most of the associate's degree programs require four semesters to complete, while the majority of the diploma programs require just two semesters. The pharmacology technician diploma program requires three semesters for completion. These programs prepare you for entry-level positions in growing career fields.
The diploma and associate's degree programs also prepare you for licensure in your field if required. For example, the Massage Therapy program prepares you to take the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB.)
Many of the diploma and degree programs offered by Technical Career Institute are not widely found at career colleges and can prepare you for careers that you might not have considered before. The diverse program offerings include:
- Accounting Technology: This associate's degree program focuses on the uses of statistical analysis in accounting and is idea for students looking to advance quickly in their career.
- Hospitality Operations and Management: This associate's degree program prepares you for work in places like restaurants, hotels, or conventions centers. Your coursework focuses on management skills within this diverse industry.
- Medical Insurance Specialist: This diploma program is designed for students wanting to work in medical billing, either in a hospital, doctor's office, or insurance setting.
- Phlebotomy Technician: This diploma program trains you to draw blood, qualifying you to work in essential settings such as hospitals, blood banks, and plasma centers.
The college regularly adds new programs of study. The two latest offerings are in the growing fields of emergency medical technician-paramedic and dental assisting.
Attending Technical Career Institute
In order to be admitted to the Technical Career Institute, you must show proof of a high school diploma or equivalency. International students must produce transcripts. When you decide to apply, you can meet with an admission representative to tour the campus and discuss your goals and interests.
Financial aid is available to eligible students in the form of grants, loans, work-study programs, and scholarships. Private and institutional forms of financial assistance may also be available.

Technical Career Institute is devoted to helping you succeed in your chosen field. This includes helping you decide on the program you wish to study and assisting you with finding employment as you near the end of your program--whether you are working toward an associate's degree or diploma. If examinations for licensure are required, the college works to help you succeed in passing these exams the first time.
All students receive assistance in finding work after graduation. This includes coaching in interview techniques and help with preparing an excellent resume.
