The History of Steiner

Henry Steiner created his own brand of hair and skin products in England in 1901. His son then created salons, which eventually evolved into Steiner Leisure Limited, a worldwide company that develops hair and skin products. Today, the company maintains more than 175 spas throughout the world, many of which are on cruise ships or at top resorts. Some of the company's brands include Elemis, La Thérapie, Jou Chinese Herbs, and Steiner Hair Care.

Steiner Education Group, an affiliate of Steiner Leisure Limited, began a training program that teaches students how to provide spa services as well as massage services. The company has 17 campuses in nine states where training is provided, including the Arizona School of Massage Therapy, where the Steiner Institute of Esthetics is operated. When the Arizona School of Massage Therapy became a member of the Steiner Education Group, it soon added the Steiner Esthetics Program to its curriculum, and the Steiner Institute of Esthetics was born.

The Steiner Institute of Esthetics Experience

Steiner Institute of Esthetics prides itself on giving students an experience that is very similar to a real-life workplace experience. The instruction is mostly practical and hands-on, with a mixture of theory, laboratory, and clinical experience. When you finish the program, you understand how to assess each client's needs and provide the right products and treatments for each individual client's specific skin, hair, or body issues. The clinical experience during the program involves working with actual clients who come to the school for treatments and massages.

Financial aid services are provided to students who need assistance. Career counseling and guidance is offered to all students.

Newly trained estheticians must take an examination upon graduation. Each state has its own exam. The Steiner Institute of Esthetics program is designed to prepare you for this examination so you can obtain a license to practice as a professional esthetician.

Career Services

Students who graduate from the Steiner Institute of Esthetics go on to work in spas, at resorts, on cruise ships, and in medical offices. Since Steiner Leisure Limited maintains its own spas throughout the world, graduates may have opportunities for employment at some of these locations. In addition, other top spas come to the school annually to recruit graduates.

The Arizona School of Massage Therapy, as a whole, boasts 100 job possibilities every week, which translates to more than 5,000 opportunities a year.
