Sarasota School of Massage Therapy first opened in 1978.  Since then, the school has gone through several transformations while maintaining its commitment to providing high-quality massage therapy training.  Students who have graduated have gone on to rewarding careers in massage therapy.

Sarasota School of Massage Therapy recently moved to a new facility.  The expanded new facility provides a comfortable setting to learn massage therapy.  Larger classrooms allow you more room to practice, yet class sizes are kept to just 20 students.  The school is filled with natural light to foster a better learning environment. The classrooms are also equipped with excellent audio systems and have built-in projectors. Classrooms are outfitted with cork floors, which are more hygienic.  Students have access to a wonderful break room with outdoor patio.  The school is located near many shopping and dining venues as well. 

Massage Therapy Program at Sarasota School of Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a fast-growing career. Massage therapists may find work in various areas such as spas, medical clinics, cruise ships, resorts, health and fitness centers, and doctor's offices. Some massage therapists work from home or open their own practice.  The massage therapy program at Sarasota School of Massage Therapy teaches you all the essential skills necessary to get licensed as a massage therapist. 

The massage therapy program incorporates hands-on training in practical skills with classroom learning to provide you with the most comprehensive curriculum available.  Your studies include 730 hours of training, including massage theory and practice, anatomy and physiology, and courses in law and ethics. Together these sections give you the knowledge and skills necessary to become licensed as a massage therapist upon graduation. Additionally, training in business aspects of massage therapy prepare you to manage a salon or run your own business.

The coursework is designed to prepare you to take the exam through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork upon graduation.  Practicing massage therapists must also become licensed by the department of health. Your program also includes licensure in CPR and First Aid.

Your tuition includes everything you need for training, including a massage table that you can use both during school and after you graduate. Eligible students can also apply for financial assistance.

Sarasota School of Massage Therapy provides career placement services to students and graduates.  Members of the career placement staff are all licensed and practicing massage therapists with a network of professional connections and experience to draw upon.  They assist you in making important career choices and in offering placement services throughout the program and after graduation.  Many companies throughout the country come to Sarasota School of Massage Therapy to find massage therapist employees.
