Online Bachelor's Degrees in Humanities and Liberal Arts
Unlike vocational training programs, a bachelor's degree program emphasizes a broad, well-rounded education and the cultivation of analytical thinking skills. With coursework in language, written communication, theoretical analysis, and cultural studies, online bachelor's degrees in humanities and liberal arts prepare students for a wide range of careers, including most high-level occupations in business, law, and medicine.
Online bachelor's degrees in humanities incorporate coursework in a broad range of disciplines: English, history, philosophy, foreign language, music, and art history, just to name a few. Liberal arts degrees expand this focus to include social sciences such as anthropology, sociology, women's studies, psychology, and political science. Both degrees include a broad core curriculum in the arts and sciences, as well as a period of focused study in a particular discipline.
Online bachelor's degrees in humanities and liberal arts make for highly adaptable job qualifications. Bachelor's degree holders go on to careers in teaching, communications, media, advertising, marketing, social science research, government, and in various areas of business. Many use the degree as a qualification for professional school, such as earning a law, medical, or MBA degree.
Salaries vary widely from profession to profession, but there is no question that an online bachelor's degree is worth the investment. Although no program can guarantee salary, US Census data shows that bachelor's degree holders earn an average of 83% more than high school graduates, or $23,000 more per year.
