Oakland, California - February 9, 2004 - Wave Vidmar, lifelong adventurer and athlete, is just days away from leaving San Francisco International Airport and heading for Russia to launch his WorldWideLearn.com North Pole Solo 2004 expedition. This is an extremely difficult expedition for many reasons: the distance to be covered across broken and floating sea ice; the amount and weight of provisions that must be dragged; constant threat from Polar bears, and then there's the overbearing element - the frigid temperatures.
