Clubs

An Excellent Way to Expand Your Skills!
You can join a club to find people with similar hobbies and interests. We often forget how much you can learn a lot in such a setting! Your fellow club members will have different levels of skill and knowledge in the topic. If you treat the club experience as a "learning" opportunity, you can gain a lot!
Joining a club is an excellent way to expand on courses you may already be taking, or even to expand your skills and knowledge before taking a course.
Clubs exist for just about everything. Want to expand your photography skills? Call a local photo studio and ask if they can recommend a local club. Want to become a better gardener? There are loads of local clubs dedicated to roses, banzai, orchids, and herbs. Want to become a mechanic? Lots of car/motorcycle clubs could help you learn.
And with the Internet, it's easier than ever to find clubs in your area. Sites like Yahoo! and AOL can help you find clubs where you will become much more than a member - you'll become a "learner!"
Try a sports or fitness club
Want to learn more about health and fitness? Many running stores around North America offer weekend "group" runs and walks where you'll meet people at about your same skill level, and someone with more experience will be along, too. Try the Running Room or you might try Fleet Feet in many U.S. cities.
