National Holistic Institute
With various convenient locations, the National Holistic Institute prides itself on a reputation for excellence. As the first nationally-accredited school for offering programs in massage therapy in California, the National Holistic Institute has long been a trendsetter. The college mission centers on providing students with the skills they need to find the job they love.
Throughout the 1970s, Carol Carpenter nurtured a love of massage. Her desire to share the techniques and benefits of massage therapy led her to open a school in 1979 that would become the National Holistic Institute. As interest in massage therapy continued to grow throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the institute grew as well. From its humble beginnings, the National Holistic Institute now boasts multiple campuses where students from across the globe come to study with leading massage therapists.
However, a massage therapy education is about so much more than just giving a good massage. Students at the National Holistic Institute learn a variety of clinical and business skills including massage therapy techniques, knowledge of anatomy, marketing and business skills, and private practice management.
Massage therapy is a growing field and trained massage therapists can work in a number of settings, including private practices, upscale salons, wellness centers, sports facilities, and clinical practices.
The National Holistic Institute Experience
The training programs at National Holistic Institute offer a 720-hour education with day, evening and weekend classes available. Many students, particularly working professionals or adults with families, appreciate the option to schedule courses around their work and family commitments.
With an exclusive focus on massage, you can be assured that the National Holistic Institute is committed to providing a quality, comprehensive massage curriculum. The college's training program has been refined throughout the last 30 years and is constantly updated and revised to incorporate new techniques and learning material. With a busy massage clinic open to the public at the school, students have not only the opportunity to perfect their skills but also earn money to offset the costs of tuition or meet ongoing expenses.
In addition, because it is a nationally accredited school, students at the National Holistic Institute are eligible to receive federal financial aid. These federal programs include Pell Grants, Stafford Loans, Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students, work study options and the Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant.
For graduates of the college, the National Holistic Institute offers lifetime career placement services. The college maintains relationships with preferred partners which provide graduates the opportunity to apply for positions at some of the nation's top places of employment for massage therapists.
