Home and Family
Richard Thomas currently lives in Golden, Colorado, a town located about twelve miles from the city of Denver. Nested in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Golden is most well known for being the home of the Coors Brewery.
Professor Thomas has been happily married to his wife, Cynthia, for almost two decades. He considers her to be his soul mate and best friend. Cynthia works as a registered nurse, and the couple has a son, Anthony, who is a sophomore in high school.
The Thomas family also includes two more members: their dogs Annie Marie and Buddy. Annie Marie is a two-year old female boxer, and Buddy is a four-year old male Chow. Buddy and Annie enjoy life in the Thomas family, taking daily walks in nature and lounging around Professor Thomas' study in their free time.
Hobbies and Activities
Professor Thomas' favorite activities include hiking and walking, playing basketball, writing and doing research, and gardening. He also enjoys star-gazing, fishing, whittling, and genealogy.
Among Professor Thomas' favorite films are Out of Africa, All the President's Men, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. He enjoys all genres of film, listing among his favorites Mary Poppins and other Walt Disney Classics, Pretty Woman, and the Godfather trilogy.
A proud Chicago, Illinois native, Professor Thomas enthusiastically follows any and all Chicago sports teams. He is particularly loyal to the Chicago Cubs and has been following the team since the late 1950's. His baseball hero is Ernie Banks, with whom Professor Thomas has two photos, one from a Chicago game in 1963, the other from a Denver game in 1995.
