Dr. Michael Jazzar

Meet Michael Jazzar, PhD, one of the many excellent professors at Jones International University®. Dr. Jazzar has taught law extensively for 15 years and currently teaches in the School of Education. One class he especially enjoys teaching is EDU 553: K-12 Educational Law and Policy, a course he authored for JIUTM.

Education as a Life Foundation

Dr. Jazzar's parents emigrated from Greece to the United States, so he grew up without speaking English at home. His parents instilled in him the importance of education, one of the many reasons Dr. Jazzar decided to dedicate his dissertation to them. He's since held numerous positions in the educational field, including superintendent, principal, curriculum director, counselor, teacher, university administrator, professor, author, and board trustee.

Life Outside the Virtual Classroom

Living in Bradenton, Florida with his wife, Mary Therese, who he describes as his best friend, Dr. Jazzar has passed on his passion for education to his three children. Aaron, his oldest son, is soon to graduate from college with a degree in chemistry. Danielle, his daughter, is a sales representative with a technology firm in Raleigh, North Carolina. Jason, his youngest son, is a junior at Braden River High School.

When not teaching, Dr. Jazzar enjoys family outings, tennis, fishing, and writing. He recently saw the film Avatar and added it to his list of top movies. When vacation time rolls around, the islands of Greece are his prime destination.
