Charlotte, NC, Fashion Schools: Fast-Growing Fashion Careers

The largest city in North Carolina, Charlotte is also the fastest-growing city on the East Coast, with 20 new skyscrapers constructed in the last few years. A historical city first settled in 1755 by the uncle of President James K. Polk, Charlotte has recently transformed itself into one of the finance capitals of the U.S. It is now the second largest banking headquarters in the U.S., after New York City.

Charlotte Life

A major transportation hub, Charlotte offers fashion school students access to the entire nation via a vast network of buses and trains. In addition, the busy Charlotte/Douglas International Airport offers nonstop flights to cities throughout the world. Fashion design students have access to a multitude of programs, classes, and courses in its nearby colleges and universities.

Graduates of Charlotte fashion schools can benefit from the city's rapidly expanding economy and thriving arts scene. Fashion school students can also take advantage of Charlotte's strong retail economy to get apparel merchandising experience while they study. Charlotte's position as a growing metropolitan center in the Southeast may open up many opportunities for students to pursue a regional fashion career. Just two hours from the Blue Ridge Mountains and three hours from the North Carolina coast, Charlotte provides fashion school students ample opportunities for recreation outside of classes.
