History of Education Timeline
Education began on man's first day on earth.
However, until relatively recent times, formal education was only for the rich or the very lucky. In many "developing" parts of the world, that is still the case. While most nations strive to provide education to the masses, many still struggle with the basics of survival.

The very first education
In the beginning Adam got the very first lesson, from God: break the law and you pay the price.
Or, in the beginning before there were written words (the Pre-literate era), everything humans learned was passed on by word-of-mouth.
The "Timeline of Education" shows highlights of learning and education (especially related to Western education), going back to the very first education. It doesn't include every development in every part of the world.
Let ideas from the Education Timeline inspire you to learn more about that on your own, or through one of the amazing online degree programs featured here at WorldWideLearn.com

How do you learn?
If you had lived in ancient times, would you have been a trail-blazer, or sat back and just accept things the way they were?

If your family came from a non-Western culture, how do you think their educational background affected your personal style of learning?
