Online K-12 Education Degree Programs

If you want to teach at the professional level, it's mandatory to get sufficient certification in K-12 education. While it is true that some schools don't necessary require a master's degree or higher, having advanced certification will increase your ability to obtain long-term employment in this career.

Elementary and secondary education are both crucial for any student's academic and professional development. The median salary of schoolteachers was roughly $42,000 in 2004, and most schools offer generous vacation and benefit packages as well.

A K-12 education degree is not the only prerequisite you should research before enrolling. Graduates are also required to obtain a teacher's license before applying for teaching positions in public schools (private school requirements often vary). With the right training, it's possible to transition into other areas of education such as school administration, curriculum development, and athletics. As technology continues to influence education, there will likely be even more avenues available to those with sufficient training.
