Earn Your High School Diploma Online

By Clare Kaufman

Question

I am looking into finishing high school but am wondering if most colleges and universities will recognize online diplomas. I am from Manitoba, Canada.

Answer

There are many options for earning your high school diploma online. As long as the institution is accredited, an online high school diploma is as valid as any other. U.S. colleges recognize online high school diplomas for their eligibility requirements; though some with stricter admissions standards may weigh the online diploma differently than a traditional one.

I'm not familiar with eligibility requirements for Canadian colleges -- I would suggest researching particular schools and contacting their Admissions departments for further information.

The last word...
Online high school diplomas are valid for admission to most U.S. colleges, but it is wise to verify a particular school's admission policy before applying.
