The Job of a Restaurant Manager

If you are interested in working in the restaurant industry, but would rather work in administration than in cooking, consider a job in restaurant management. Restaurant managers work in some very glamorous, exciting, and fast-paced environments, ensuring that everything is running smoothly in their establishment. The job of a restaurant manager includes many duties, including overseeing the cooking and food preparation, the accounting and purchasing, managing the restaurant staff, and also making sure that the restaurant guests feel welcome.

Competition in the restaurant industry can be fierce, so getting proper training is key to your success. Colleges, universities, vocational schools, and restaurant schools across the country offer various short- and long-term culinary programs in restaurant management.
