Degree Programs at Career College of Northern Nevada

Career College of Northern Nevada offers diploma or associate's degree programs that prepare you for growing careers in a variety of occupations, including:

  • Pharmacy technician: Graduates of this diploma program are eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam. Pharmacy technicians perform precise work where details make a huge difference in patient health. Your coursework includes training in dosage calculations, compounding and sterile processing of medications, and medical billing.
  • Electronics repair technician: In this 12-month program you learn to service and repair a wide array of electronic and computer equipment. As part of your training, you assemble your own desktop computer.
  • HVAC/R service technician: In this program, you can earn your diploma in nine months and be ready to start an entry-level job in heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration. You learn skills like installing heating and cooling devices, performing routine maintenance, replacing parts like filters and ducts, and conserving and recycling refrigerants used in cooling systems.
  • Health information technologist: The associate's degree in health information technology teaches you to perform medical billing and coding, medical transcription, and front office and customer service duties. In addition to office tasks, your coursework includes instruction in anatomy and physiology.
  • Paralegal: This associate's degree program prepares you for a career in the legal field. You learn to help lawyers prepare for meetings, closing arguments, hearings, or trials. You also learn to research laws, investigate facts, and write reports. 
  • Medical assistant: You can earn either an associate's degree or a diploma in the medical assistant program. As a medical assistant, you perform routine administrative and clerical tasks to keep medical offices running smoothly. You may take medical histories, explain treatment procedures, prepare patients for exams, and assist healthcare providers during exams.
  • Electronic engineering technician and computer technology: Graduates of this 21-month program learn to work with electronic devices. They help engineers design, test, and service electronic and computer equipment. As part of this program, you learn to assemble a desktop computer that you are able to keep.
