A mere 10 miles from Seattle, the suburb of Tukwila, Washington is one of the Seattle metro area's many comfortable suburban towns. With a population of 16,992, Tukwila contributes to the Seattle metro area's total population of 3,203,314. Seattle itself (569,101) is Washington's largest city, followed by Tacoma (176,664) and Spokane (177,196).

Like Seattle and other metro area cities, Tukwila is located off of the southern tip of Puget Sound, making sailing, boating, and other water sports popular. Tukwila residents also have access to the northeastern region's great skiing and mountain sports, and British Columbia is only a few hours away.
