Richardson, Texas is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Just north of Dallas, Richardson offers the advantages of small-town living combined with the cultural vibrancy of two large cities nearby. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Richardson's 2003 population was 99,536. Richardson is at the center of the Telecom Corridor in an area with many high-tech firm offices. In fact, many of the top employers in Richardson, such as Verizon Business, AT&T, Cingular, and Hewlett-Packard, are technology and communications companies.
