Film and Television
Whether you crave a life in front of or behind the camera, perhaps you should consider a career in film and television. Work as an actor or as a camera operator can expose you to many creative opportunities such as meeting writers, communicating with directors and producers, and being part of ongoing projects. Whether you're interested in acting for film and television purposes, or you prefer to learn the ropes of camera operating, there are courses dedicated to each field. Within the communications industry, experience helps you move forward, so internships at television studios are a great way to start. Many campus-based film and television programs offer classes in theater, drama, and communications.
Broadcasting
Another facet of the television industry is broadcast media, in which you can play a vital role in relaying news and breaking events to the public. Broadcasting is a form of news reporting aired through several television networks and is an excellent way to take your T.V. personality to the public. There are hundreds of different broadcast media jobs available, from writing and editing to becoming a correspondent for international communications. Formal training from two to four years is often required depending on levels of expertise needed for each field. The communications industry is ready for you to explore broadcasting or film and television.
