In fact, there are many different avenues you can take in professional photography, specializing in subjects such as buildings or landscapes for media purposes, or portrait photography with an emphasis on studio work. With specialized software, digital photography is making editing a much more creative process, allowing you to enhance color, size, and accuracy in your work. With hundreds of avenues available in professional photography, finding the appropriate training and experience can land you a job behind the lens.

Developing Your Talent
Most entry-level positions within photojournalism or commercial photography require a college degree. In addition to a liberal arts education, you can take photography courses that will hone your basic knowledge in equipment and processes. Many campus-based programs also offer digital photography courses that will teach you the essentials in photographic technology.
