ARTICLE: Strongsville In-Depth
The mid-size city of Strongsville, Ohio is in Cuyahoga County, a mere 15 minutes from downtown Cleveland. Strongsville is known for its excellent public school system, and offers easy access to Ohio's lush wilderness. In a 2005 survey conducted by the City of Strongsville, 92 percent of respondents listed Strongsville as a "good to excellent" place to live. High on their list of Cuyahoga County attractions was undoubtedly the Strongsville Farmer's market, where residents can splurge on fresh midwestern crops.

Strongsville has a population of 43,858 and a per capita income of $29, 772. The city's governing bodies are decidedly pro-business. A high percentage of employees are concentrated in the services, retail trade, finance, insurance, and real estate sectors. Four industrial parks, created with the city's aid, host almost 200 businesses.

Demag Plastics Group Corporation made Strongsville the site of its North American headquarters, and more major manufacturers are on the way. Other main employers in Strongsville include:
  • ICI Paints
  • Darice, Inc.
  • Strongsville CSD

Nearby Cleveland is also undergoing an economic revival, as major corporations such as the National City Corporation and the Eaton Corporation make the city their headquarters. The booming biotechnology industry has also started setting down roots in the greater Cleveland area, thanks in part to the presence of strong research universities. Strongsville also attracts flocks of Northeast Ohio shoppers with its diverse restaurants, stores and movie theater offerings.
