Ohio's "Arch City," named for the arches spanning High Street, which provided light for the street and electricity for streetcars, offers many jobs for skilled trades and labor at the following manufacturing facilities:
- Two Honda manufacturing plants
- Worthington Industries steel processing plant
- Budweiser brewery
- UPS distribution center
Although it may not seem like a fashionable city, Columbus, OH is the headquarters of clothing retailers Abercrombie & Fitch as well as Limited Brands, the parent company of The Limited, Express, Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works.
Food is also an important industry in Columbus, and the following restaurant chains are all based in or around the Columbus metropolitan area:
- Wendy's
- White Castle
- Bob Evans
Additionally, Abbott Laboratories, makers of nutritional drinks Ensure and Similac, has facilities in Columbus that provide jobs to more than 7,000 employees.
