Mahwah, New Jersey, known as "Bergen County's Parkland," is located about 30 miles north of New York City. In the 2000 census, Bergen County and the city of Mahwah had populations of approximately 902,000 and 24,682, respectively. Bordered by the Ramapo and Mahwah Rivers, Mahwah has over 5,000 acres of state and county parkland that are great for outdoor activities--hiking, swimming, and fishing.
