The village of Iselin is located in Middlesex County, New Jersey, and is a part of the metropolitan New York area. Iselin is just 25 miles southwest of New York City. According to 2005 census data, its population is 17,504.

The median household income of Iselin is nearly $74,898, which is almost $30,000 more than the average in the United States. Recent job growth is significantly higher than in the rest of the nation. The median cost of a home in Iselin is $327,800, and the annual appreciation rate is nearly 16%. The average annual spending per child in the school system is also more than $3,000 above the national average.

Iselin has a business district known as Metropark that is home to corporate offices for many businesses including Engelhard, Prudential, Siemens and Morgan Stanley. The largest employers in Middlesex County are Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Merrill Lynch, Johnson & Johnson, and Prudential.
