Unemployment in the area has been below 4.5% for over 10 years, and Springfield's work force has grown more than 16% in that time. In 2004, Springfield accounted for more than a third of Missouri's total job growth. The healthcare industry employs much of Springfield's population, with 15% of the total workforce employed in this field. Magazine as a Top 25 City for Doing Business in America, by Entrepreneur Magazine as a Top 10 Hot City for Entrepreneurs, by Employment Review as a Top 10 Place to Live and Work, and by Ladies' Home Journal as one of the Top 30 Best Cities for Women.
