Tewksbury is a town in northeastern Massachusetts' Middlesex County. The 2000 Census reported a population of 28,851 residents. The town shares a western border with Lowell, the fourth-largest city in Massachusetts. Originally settled in 1637, Tewksbury was incorporated as a town in 1734. In the 19th century, residents helped earn Tewksbury its nickname, Carnation Town, by developing a flourishing flower trade. The town became famous for its sprawling districts of greenhouses and fresh flower markets.

Tewksbury is 21 miles north of Boston, and many residents commute to the metropolitan area for work and play. Andover, Massachusetts borders on the northeast.
