Schaumburg, IL, situated in Cook County, is a prosperous business center with a population of 75,386, according to the 2000 US Census. Schaumburg Township was originally known as Sarah's, because three families that lived in the grove of woods in the northwest part of the town had young ladies named Sarah--Sarah McChisney, Sarah Frisbe, and Sarah Smith. Hoffman Estates, Rolling Meadows, and Roselle are the cities closest to Schaumburg, IL.

Around 91% of the Schaumburg population holds a high school diploma or higher. The per capita income of Schaumburg is $30,587, compared with $21,587 nationally. One of Illinois' two Ikea stores is located within Schaumburg city limits. Woodfield Mall, the eighth largest mall in the U.S., is also located there. Motorola, whose national headquarters are situated in Schaumberg, employs the largest number of people in the town, with Woodfield Mall coming in second.

Schaumburg presently contains 13,250,000 square feet of industrial space, sited on 1,600 acres of land with great growth potential for the Copley Center and the Woodfield Business Center II. Around 9.5 million square feet of retail and commercial space, 12 million square feet of official space, and a daily floating population of 150,000 make Schaumburg, IL an ideal destination for business and employment.
