Mount Prospect, IL is situated 22 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. Thanks to commuters, Mount Prospect has demonstrated a great propensity for growth and vision since the 1960s. Randhurst Mall, for example was built in Mount Prospect in 1962, and at that time, it was the largest air-conditioned mall in the U.S., complete with a bomb shelter large enough to protect the entire population of the town.
