Glendale Heights, Illinois was a small village established by a group of farmers in the 1950s. Founded with fewer than a hundred people, this village is now a modern urban community consisting of 31,765 people, according to the 2000 US census. Shopping centers, apartments, churches, parks and industrial centers now dot its landscape. Chicago is the nearest major city, while Addison, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, and Glen Ellyn are some of the other nearest cities to Glendale Heights.
