The Dunwoody Homeowners Association has wielded considerable influence since its 1969 inception. Dunwoody is actually a bedroom community for neighboring Atlanta. Although Atlanta has undergone fairly drastic urban sprawl over the last several decades, Dunwoody has managed to maintain its residential feel and close-knit community through the years. High-priced real estate is one reason why large-scale business development hasn't affected Dunwoody, GA the way other suburbs of Atlanta have been altered.
