The tourism industry alone generates approximately $25 billion in revenue for the Orlando area. Long established as a major center of entertainment and Tourism, Orlando is home to:

- Numerous film studio theme parks
In recent years, the area's economy has expanded rapidly, due to:
- Biotech, aerospace, film and TV production, manufacturing, and distribution.
- Aerospace has had a longstanding presence in Orlando, dating all the way back to WWII air and military bases.
- Lockheed Martin and Signature Air Services (two of the biggest aerospace companies in the world) is a major Orlando employer.
- The markets of entertainment and high tech are also growing--from a $2.5 million entertainment market in the City Beautiful to a near $600 million market today.
- Mitsubishi and Westinghouse are major high tech firms that also employ thousands in Orlando and advance wireless and medical technologies every year.
