Known as the "Gateway to Florida," Jacksonville is the most populous city in Florida and the 13th most populous city in the United States. As of 2005, the city had an estimated population of 782,623 with a metropolitan population of more than 1.3 million. Located on the St. John's River and the Atlantic Ocean, Jacksonville has the largest southern deep water port and is a major hub for imports and exports such as automobiles, coffee, lumber, paper products and phosphates.
