The picturesque city of Branford is situated in southern Connecticut, along 20 miles of scenic coastline on the Long Island Sound. Branford's excellent transportation links provide easy access to nearby colleges and universities in the neighboring towns of New Haven and Milford. The Branford community is known for idyllic walking trails, marinas along the Branford River, and expansive open spaces. The city also boasts a strong economic base, low taxes, and diversity in business and industry.
The greater New Haven area offers numerous popular attractions, such as Egyptian mummies at Peabody Museum of Natural History, premiere performances at the legendary Shubert Theater, and the largest US collection of British Art at the Yale Center for British Art. Milford, known as "The Small City with the Big Heart," is home to the Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center and the Silver Sands State Park. The combined population of Branford, New Haven, and Milford is 202,858 and their average annual per capita income is $25,822. Economic growth in the New Haven metro area is rated at 6.7% of the national average.
