The average income of a Stockton-Lodi resident is $25,527 and is up 7.9% since 1969, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Stockton-Lodi's major employers include General Mills, Miller Hot Dogs, Pacific Coast Producers, Certainteed/Apache Plastics, Schaefer Systems International, Scientific Specialties, Quashnick Tool Corporation, Lodi Iron Works, Holtz Rubber, and Dart Container.
Local residents are benefiting from the lowest unemployment rate since 1990. Recently, an increase in industrial and residential development has occurred within Lodi in particular. The on-going strength of the wine/grape industry combined with this new development indicates a positive economic future for the region.
The Stockton-Lodi area has seen several industries wane in the last decade:
- Agriculture
- Finance and insurance
- Real estate
- Manufacturing
- Wholesale trade
Despite these declines, Stockton-Lodi has experienced continued economic health in part due to the growth of some industries such as:
- Retail trade
- Transportation and public utilities
- Services
- Construction
