According to the San Fernando Valley Almanac 2000, Reseda is a neighborhood of only seven square miles, with about 62,598 people and 22,125 households. The median household income in 1999 was just over $40,000. Reseda was originally part of the San Fernando Valley's agricultural hub, well known as one of the nation's largest lettuce producers. Reseda later became one of the first major suburbs of the San Fernando Valley. Growing industries like bio-tech, bio-medical services and light manufacturing are diversifying the already vibrant business climate in Reseda.

- Manufacturing jobs employing about 77,000 people.
In 2004, Valley employment grew 1.8% and the private sector added 12,000 new jobs, surpassing both Los Angeles County and California growth rates.
