Reseda is a neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Located in the San Fernando Valley and less than 20 miles from downtown Los Angeles, Reseda has become one the Valley's busiest business districts. The San Fernando Valley is known as "the valley of the stars" because of famous actors in the area. According to the San Fernando Valley Almanac 2000, Reseda is a neighborhood of only seven square miles, with about 62,598 people and 22,125 households. The median household income in 1999 was just over $40,000. Reseda was originally part of the San Fernando Valley's agricultural hub, well known as one of the nation's largest lettuce producers. Reseda later became one of the first major suburbs of the San Fernando Valley. Growing industries like bio-tech, bio-medical services and light manufacturing are diversifying the already vibrant business climate in Reseda.
