Ontario, California is located in San Bernardino County, near Interstate 10, the Pomona Freeway, and State Route 83. Called the "Gateway to Southern California," the city is home to one of the largest malls in North America, and the largest in Southern California. There are about 180,000 people living in Ontario.

Ontario was once known as a health resort, and was later settled by citrus farmers because of its rocky soil. Wine grapes and olives are grown in Ontario, and dairy farming is also prevalent.

The top five employers in Ontario are:
  • Sunkist Growers (orange production)
  • Maglite Corporation (flashlight production)
  • Ontario Mills (retail)
  • FedEx
  • UPS

These employers, as well as other nationally recognized companies who run large operations in the area, employ thousands of workers. The service industry in Ontario is also expanding. The median income for the city is about $43,000.
