The average home price in Huntington Park rose 21.6 percent between 2003 and 2004 alone, contributing to a cost of living 39 percent higher than the national average. According to a 2003 report from the US Census Bureau, the average per-capita income in Huntington Park was $9,340, more than 41% lower than the state average of $22,711. The Huntington Park economy is based on the greater Los Angeles economy, with its massive tourist and entertainment industries. Huntington Park is located just miles from downtown Los Angeles and shares its dependence on a large service industry.
