While best known as the location of the Arkansas State Capital, the Little Rock-North Little Rock area of Arkansas is also host to other significant attractions. Chief among these is the stunning William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park, which showcases President Clinton's collections and memorabilia in a dramatic new building at a picturesque riverside location in Little Rock. Fans of history and civil rights should also enjoy a visit to the Central High School National Historic Site and Museum, a memorial to the "Little Rock Nine" who in 1957 fought a valiant battle for desegregation at the school.

The 2004 Census estimated that about 636,000 people reside in the Little Rock-North Little Rock AR area. The most populous cities are Little Rock, which 183,133 people call home, North Little Rock, just across the Arkansas River from Little Rock, with a population of 60,433, and Conway, where 52,430 residents live. Industries employing a large number of Little Rock residents include:
