Various tax incentives, financing initiatives, technical assistance projects, and real estate development initiatives have helped bulk up Lafayette's image as an agricultural powerhouse with numerous business advantages for pharmaceutical companies, research parks, and production facilities.
In addition, Lafayette has funneled substantial resources into preserving its historic districts and neighborhood services. Real estate development in particular has gained a lot of attention over the past 10 years as Lafayette has tried to beautify its residential areas with recreational parks and communitywide events and festivals.
