Fenton, Missouri, also known as the "City of Parks," is located in St. Louis County along the Meramec River. The nearest large city is St. Louis, 15 miles to the northeast. The 2005 population of Fenton was 4,376 and the 1999 per capita income was $29,658, slightly above the national average of $21,587.

Fenton is a financially strong city with low sales tax and no taxes on utilities, municipal real estate, or personal property. The city also provides free garbage and ambulance service. The downtown area of Fenton, called Olde Towne, is currently the focus of a redevelopment plan. Fenton also has a large industrial area with approximately 594 resident businesses. Fenton's nickname stems from the city's seven parks, which cover over 300 acres and provide numerous recreational activities. Inside one of the parks is the Heroes Memorial, dedicated to police, fire, EMS, and military personnel as well as the victims of 9/11. Fenton also has an annual festival called "Musical Sunset in the Park," and the city is planning to create the Fabick Nature Preserve. Fenton's proximity to St. Louis offers residents all the attractions of a large metropolis. Visitors to this neighboring city can see the Gateway Arch, catch a baseball game at the new Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals, or see a variety of historic homes and museums.
