Public Relations Degrees
Online Degrees in Public Relations
Public relations specialists handle organizational functions involving media, community, consumer, industry, and governmental relations. As a public relations specialist, you may draft press releases and interact with media, as well as establish speaking engagements. You may be called on to prepare speeches and talking points for company officials.
Online Courses and Degrees for Public Relations Careers In public relations, the ability to communicate effectively is essential to the job. Your coursework should center on communication strategies, marketing, journalism, and strong writing skills. Many entry-level public relations specialists have a college major in public relations, journalism, advertising, or communication. Online public relations degrees allow students to boost their career potential while still juggling work and life commitments.
Public Relations Job Outlook The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimated that jobs in this field will grow faster than average in the coming years. There will be considerable competition for entry-level positions in this field. While no degree program can guarantee your success, job opportunities should be best for graduates of degree programs in public relations, journalism, or another communications-related field. Those with specialized work-related experience may also have a competitive advantage when seeking new employment.
