Question
Hi, my name is Miriam and I have a criminal justice degree. I have been trying to find a job in that area since I graduated and nothing has come my way. What am I doing wrong? I really want a job in that area. I live in Colorado, but I am looking at other states too.
Thank you very much.

Answer
Dear Miriam,
Thank you for your question. I recommend that you start by connecting with the Criminal Justice Department at the college you attended. They might have some leads on internship or career opportunities. That's also a great way to network with other professionals in your field.
Second, continue your education as you look for a job: read articles and books that relate to the current research or trends in Criminal Justice. If you keep track of what is happening in your industry, you will be better able to sell your skills and potential in the field.
