Liberal Arts Degrees
Online Degrees in Liberal Arts
A liberal arts education allows students to explore any number of career possibilities. Unlike students in professional or vocational programs, students in liberal arts degree programs receive broad exposure to a variety of areas, while focusing on a few key specialties that lead to an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree.
Employment prospects are generally strong after graduation, as many employers prefer to hire people with the education in the right skills (critical thinking, writing, and analysis) rather than the right subjects. A candidate with the best academic credentials can easily learn the specific demands of any given job. According to an AT&T survey, students of liberal arts programs rise to middle- and senior-level positions faster than their technically-educated coworkers.
Liberal arts degrees are also an excellent choice for students who want to pursue graduate studies, as universities often prefer candidates with a proven ability to learn and succeed. A liberal arts education offers much more than career-specific training, because it teaches students to understand problems, develop solutions, and lead a balanced and well-rounded life.
