Humanities programs often offer study of other cultures, such as Asian or European, and some programs require students to specialize in a discipline or study of a specific geographical area. Some humanities graduates take time to travel, further broadening their knowledge and experience. Someone with an advanced degree in humanities may go into teaching, but most students of the humanities pursue an advanced degree in another field such as law, medicine, or journalism. Graduates with an associate's or bachelor's degree in the humanities are often qualified for entry-level positions or internships.
