WorldWideLearn Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- What is WorldWideLearn?
WorldWideLearn.com is an Internet directory site, meaning that we are a central point on the Internet offering organized links to hundreds of other web sites, similar to Yahoo or Google directories.
We are the world's largest web site offering links to universities, colleges, and training companies offering on campus and online degree programs, courses, training modules, professional continuing education credits, and other on campus and online education programs.
WorldWideLearn does not provide any of the listed courses ourselves. If you want information about specific courses or programs, please contact the school or institution by requesting information from them via WorldWideLearn or by visiting their web site.
WorldWideLearn.com recommends that students educate themselves about accreditation prior to enrolling in any training or degree program. Many schools that appear on WorldWideLearn.com are accredited by recognized accrediting associations (read more about the importance of accreditation).
- Are your on campus and online degrees accredited?
WorldWideLearn.com lists many degree programs that hold proper accreditation and licensing. Some of the degree programs that are listed in our directory are regionally accredited (e.g., U.S. universities and colleges); or are licensed/approved by government regulatory authorities (e.g., Canadian, Australian, and international universities). A few other examples include vocational training offerings, which are accredited by DETC. Be sure to ask a school about their accreditation prior to enrolling. - Can you send me a catalog?
WorldWideLearn does not publish a catalog. WorldWideLearn is a directory and lists hundreds of degree and training programs and courses. If you would like to receive a catalog from a particular university or learning provider, you will have to request one from that learning provider. - How much do your on campus and online courses cost?
Because we list hundreds of course and program offerings from outside providers, WorldWideLearn does not normally publish pricing; however, it's easy to request more information from a school through WorldWideLearn.com. Simply fill in your contact information and a school representative who can answer all your questions--including tuition costs--will contact you directly. - Could you tell me if there is any recognition for completing the campus and online courses offered?
WorldWideLearn lists a wide variety of online courses and degree programs. A course that is offered for fun or for general interest may or may not offer a certificate of completion. A vocational training course will generally include a certificate of completion or an award of some kind. Continuing education courses will include the applicable credits. College courses will include credits. A school representative will be able to give you details regarding course completion and recognition. - Do you have a course in ...?
If you cannot find a course through the links on the home page or through the menus on the left side of the page, we have a powerful search engine that will list any information on the web site. Look for the search boxes on the left side of the page.

Search Tip:
example search phrase: "early childhood education"
Without double quotation marks around the phrase, the search results will return every instance of early, childhood and education on the web site, giving too many results to look through easily.
Surrounding the phrase with double quotation marks: "early childhood education" will return only the instances of early childhood education on the site, making the results much easier to review. This works well on Google, Yahoo and other directories, too!
- Will my credits transfer?
Whether you're transferring credits in to a school listed on WorldWideLearn, or from a school listed on WorldWideLearn to another school, it's necessary to ask the school that you would like to accept the credits. Each school has its own policy and evaluation procedures and various factors are involved, including accreditation and applicability to your degree program. - Are scholarships or financial aid available, or will my VA benefits apply?
It's always a good idea to ask any school what types of loans or grants are available because each has its own resources. In the United States,. a school becomes eligible to accept federal aid upon accreditation, but ultimately it's up to the school, so select a few and then check with them. See our financial aid and scholarship section for more information. - I am interested in being an online instructor. Do you have any vacancies?
WorldWideLearn does not offer courses or programs directly. We are an online directory of education, so we don't have a need for instructors. We do, however, offer a section full of resources and references for online teachers.
- How do I list our school's programs?
We are always looking for new Education Partners, and it's easy for schools to contact us through our Education Partner Form. We also include online education resources on WorldWideLearn.com. If you have a resource that would be valuable to WorldWideLearn.com visitors, please submit your online resource for consideration.
