Online Education Discussions and Information Featured on New WorldWideBlog
Online degrees are taking the learning world by storm, and many prospective students have questions about online education. WorldWideLearn.com's new feature, WorldWideBlog, pools the knowledge of experts and students to provide a discussion forum and accessible information to prospective online students.

The growth in post-secondary online education is 14 to 21 times faster than the growth of post-secondary education in general, according to the Sloan Consortium, a group committed to quality online education. Eduventures, a Boston firm that studies trends in education, predicts that 10 percent of all college students will be enrolled in an online degree program by 2008.

And in an act that removed a large obstacle for colleges and universities wanting to pursue online education more aggressively, Congress passed a law in March 2006 eliminating the requirement that at least half of a college's courses must be face-to-face (rather than online) in order for that college to receive federal aid. This new law meant that colleges could create an unlimited number of online courses.

Clearly, online education is an important consideration for anyone interested in earning an undergraduate or graduate degree or a technical certificate or diploma. Because online classes are such a new trend, however, prospective students are understandably cautious and may have questions about how an online education works.
